I'm having trouble with my xbox.. I turn it on and there's no picture, yet the sound works fine.
I've tried another cable and it hasn't helped anything, the cables are connected right, and to the right places, so I'm stumped.
I sent it for repair about 2months ago and it's bust again already..

Any suggestions or is this gonna mean I have to send it back, again.. ?
 
Send it back!!!

It's going to either be, your telly is dodgy, the cable's are both dodgy, or there's a problem with the graphics side of the motherboard.
 
are you using a HD tv? theres a switch on the side of the ariail leed thing HD and normal il get a photo.
 
heres the switch i mean its either set at tv ot HDTV

I'm using a normal tv, switch is set right.
I've tried it on two different TV's, with two different cables, same problem each time.

Have just ordered a HDTV though :D
 
It's really annoying though,
Got Halo 3 and NFS for christmas, along with a wireless adapter ready to go on live, and haven't been able to use it!
 
or the resolution might be set too high not having a normal tv i dont know how it works

try switching it on

move 3 things right then you will get to display

then hold up till it gets to the top of the list

press A and the press up the press A again it might work its a long shot but I dont know otherwise?
 
Well it was working fine beforehand, no problems!
Went to use it boxing day and there was no picture.
I've tried different games in it in case that was the problem, even with no disk there's still no picture, just the sound :S
 
might have an internal connection form the phono come loose, if thats what they use, not sure about the xbox.

sounds like you might have to send it back. microsoft take the #### with the 360 problems, they should have sorted it all out by now.

if you're lucky, you might get an hdmi version back (all 360's now have hdmi)
 
iam fed up of my bloody 360! ive had the xbox and the 360 and both have palyed up and broken :( i have recently purchased the ps3 but iam not very impressed with it and its running on a hdtv! i do preffer the xbox but its shocking for reliablity! think ill be sticking with playstaion from now on!
 
apparently the mother borad went! all the red light come on! have now idea how, that went after about 2years and the 360 i have no idea, the red lights came on! and i had that since last year so its last about a year and a half. I hate the things!
 
Change of plan, My new TV's coming tomorrow, so I'll wait and try it on that before sending it back :)
Don't think it's gonna make any difference but it's worth a go.
 
4 red lights mean ''ring of death''. it is when the graphics card come lose under high temperature and unfortunately it will means changing the machine unless you know how to solder properly.
any new 360 made from 2006 onwards should have this problem fixed so never buy second hand!
 
I have no red lights, that's why i was a bit confused. Last time it went wrong it was the ring of death.

Didn't they extend the warranty to 3 years?
