Ok, but he didn't smack him, otherwise Ronaldo would still be in hospital milking it for all its worth and pleading for a free kick, but if someone is winding me up at work I will confront them to find out what the problem is, I wouldn't smack them because at work I'm just biding my time until the end of my shift, plus I would get the sack, work isn't my life whereas Rooneys work is his life and if he did smack someone Fergie wouldnt sack him as he's too valuable an asset to the company/club, Glasier wouldnt let him, besides that His 'offence' wasn't for United who pay his wages but for England (the team) who don't.
