Wiper Motor Troubles

Modified a wiper as to the guide up on here, just put it on, blew the fuse straight away, so put a new fuse in and it blew that straight away, so decided to try a higher amp fuse yet to no luck, it blew this also.
Any ideas guys?

you havent done it properly then, I followed the guide and it worked fine, did the fuse blow imediately or after a few seconds ?

the fuse blew instantly! was it nex's guide you used?

could it be because i took the motor from a facelift and mine is a pre face lift?

yes, it sounds like a short circuit then, when you put the steel dowel into the new hole you drilled into the big white sprocket did you ensure it wasn't touching the copper contact plate on the back ?

yeh i was pretty sure there was no contact between the copper plate and the steel dowel! Sounds like that probably is the problem though so ill take it out and have a look! Cheers

I put a blob of araldite in the bottom of the hole and then put the dowel back in, it stopped the dowel from slipping all the way down onto the copper plate.
