Well, as a scot I really dont care who becomes boss of the English team (no offence intended, im just patriotic). But, I really do understand why you would like it all to remain English... The one thing I hate with my team (celtic) is the lack of scottish players, it really does p### me off. Good luck in the World Cup btw...

Well, before anyone starts with the Footy chat I am not really into it all that much. its far too boring for me, however Im born and raised a celt! There is no doubt they have a great team, but I just feel that its always between the Gers and the Celts in the Scottish league... something new needs to break it up. It just too predictable now.

Mclaren knows the england set up as he has been part of it for years. Personally am glad he is english but a had no problems with Sven, a dont give a hoot what people do off the pitch coz at the end of the day everyone is human and it shouldnt affect his job.

As for Celtic, the reason that there is no scotish people in the team is because the u21 setup is so good that all the big teams come n take the players away. Its always the same. Celtic are the boys but only after the toon

why though? I dont understand why everyones crying for a new boss? Im not being stupid but we did well at the last world cup only to be knocked out by the eventual champions who in fairness when they play are excellent. He has some mad tactics and the like but his record is phenomenal, friendlies is a different matter and at the end of the day thats what theyre for to experiment but in competitive matches his record is supreme and face facts he has won a lot more than Mclaren over the years, he is one of the best in the world.

I also hate the hype that Egnland have been given for this world cup, i was looking at the odds the other night and we were second favourites. Ofcourse i would love to see us win it but i dont think we are as good as everyone make out. I am patriotic and that but a care more for newcastle than i do for england, if england win it means the mackems get to rejoice too n a dont want that!

Also Sam would be crap for England in my opinion, he has done well with Bolton but there football is among the most boring on the planet, a would rather st and watch England loose in style than play boring footall

lampard, terry, beckham, rooney, gerrard, cole, ferdinand..to name but a few, how are these players not world class? i think england got an excellent team, we have had troubles down the left for many years but stuart downing and joey cole seem to have that sorted for the future and present..

i would have said that their one weakness is their strikers, it seems without owen and rooney their strike force is pretty much crap really.

cole ,rooney,terry,king,campbell,owen,,,either injured or not match fit or mentaly disturbed (campbell)
every player in the world cup is world class.but it doesnt matter how they play for chelsea or man u....its how they pay for england which is poor

Mclaren is just a safe choice for the FA in my IMO. He will not do anything special for us and the money he is getting which is apparently £10million over 4 years is a complete joke. I like to see a manager who gets off his arse and shouts and bulls on the touchline, someone who actually looks like he is earning his money, unlike Ericsson did.

I reckon James Beattie should go to the world cup. He is the most similar replacement to Rooney in terms of strength and is in good form for Everton.
