Wanted: Micra Driveline

I am after a micra driveline... all the stuff suitable for a conversion in to a MINI. I think these engines are full of potental, and I am looking for a donor car. Perhaps a written off example?

If you can fit a CG13DE you might also be able to fit a GA16DE with VTC from an N15 which is 88kW factory.
If you want to run a viscous LSD with either motor, you'll be using the same gearbox.
Are you doing a spaceframe fibreglass front? It'd make things fit a lot easier.

I reckon the CG revs out better than the GA to be honest.

I'd only really work on a GA if it was in the car and i didnt have any other choice... Just too expensive to work with because almost everything has to be custom made.

At least there is a decent CG following in japan.

Actually the mini bay is rather cramped.
options are :GTi , starlet turbo or micra.
Gti motor just fits, starlet turbo, won't fit unless major surgery and micra is unknown.
The diahatsu motor is ok... but I owned a charade once, and don't like em (its personal)\

This is a new motor compared with your old charade, Toyota is using them. No stupid balancer shaft belt to get tangled up. It's multi point injected. It does have a timing belt but nothing is perfect.
I never like the clearances you're left with when fitting a Suzuki GTi motor.
The toyota E motor is bigger, I've seen them fitted with custom subframe.
The CG is reasonably compact, probably still quite a squeeze & certainly unknown. It does rev much better than a GA ever could, given the low factory redline & reputation of the rods in the GA. With Nismo bits & $$$, the CG'll rev past 10,000rpm. There's a guy with one mounted North-South in his datsun rally car over here.
Budget approval from the finance department can be difficult.
