If anyone has a GT25 or T28BB in very good condition for sale, please give me a yell.

If its a GT25, I am only after the smallest GT25, I think its a 290hp rated model with 0.60 A/R.

Thanks

Haha zoiks. Blue monster is scared!

Yeah a T28BB/GT25 should have the goods top end, rated at approx 290hp etc. Factory CG13DE which I love, still pretty light and will handle strongly.

Thanks fellas.

Yeah must be a BallBearing version. Mmm T28BB.
Cheaper than GT25, but when you consider $800 used with 25,000km vs. $1100 brand new for a GT25. The $300 starts to look more and more worth it doesn' it.

I'm thinking I agree lately too mate.
Ray Hall in Cairns has 290hp GT25s for $1100 brand new.
I emailed im and asked for his thoughts on the suitably of the GT25. I.e. will it spool faster or slower than the T25.

There's a lot of mixed thoughts out there.
Another turbo shop I rang the other day said its a myth that GT's spool up faster, but they do have less friction and probably do spool up fractionally faster, however they make the same power at less boost and therefore have more top end and durability than say a T25/T28 traditional setup.

I reckon a fresh GT25 will be the go. If it spools up any faster, its a bonus. I hope it does.

It should spool up a fraction faster when I'm done anyway because of better flowing pipework design.

the kappatsu turbo cg13de race car k11 is 320bhp so this new GT28BB turbo will just get you there should you wish. and have the spare engine ready lol. $1400 in your money new condition. the extra $300 could make it seem worthwhile over the new GT25 lol.

I will never buy a brand new turbo (or anything expensive for that matter) from some dodgy bastard who can't even be bothered to post a photo of the product. Looks good though, but honestly, how can you expect anyone to fork over big cash on ebay without seeing a picture! Any wonder he has a bad feedback with only 35 transactions. But appreciate the link Alex.

The kappatsu car only makes 240ps, not 320hp. 320hp at the flywheel is a ridiculous amount of power for a 1.3, and the latest March #2 Japanese magazine quotes it at making 240ps. Blue monster in current form (before I pulled it apart) makes 218ps at the flywheel. 320hp is pretty unrealistic unless you have some stupendous forged crank and replace the engine once a month.

320hp is crazy for the street, I'd never expect to get anywhere near that. Turbo ratings are a bit different to drivable street power figures.

I reckon you would need another special crank, the thing would have a fair bit of wear/tear and it wouldn't be very practical for the street! bah :)

Yeah awesome for racing, good on them. Its a ****load of power.

You'd find however that the Kappatsu race car would have a linished/knife edged crank etc... Not to mention probably being blueprinted and balanced...

That is what you call a full house engine

218ps in Bluey is freaking insane, you can basically feel the chassis trying to twist in half with that amount of power...

it does the taskuba circuit in 1m 05 seconds. will have to see how close to that i can get in a 200bhp turbo march k11 on GT4 on the PS2. :)

They don't just mean that the turbo is rated at 320hp do they :) Honestly, that same car is in the latest MARCH magazine saying it has 240ps. 320 is ridiculous and if it had that much, the car would be a pig on the street. I'm interested to check it out now, but also wouldn't be surprised if its a typing mistake or they mean the rating of the turbo. Not saying it is though.

Just noticed it says something about 300ps in the Jap magazine about that car. I can't read it all, only bits and pieces.

I have my eye on a T28BB at present. My preference is to get one of those in great condition instead of a more expensive GT25.
