If you go to www.video.google.com and search 'transformer' there is a peice of Industrial Light and Magic test footage of a car transforming...
There is a Transformers live action movie in pre-production and was being produced by the guy who did the X-Men.

As far as his trailer goes, it depends upon what series you watch as to what happens... Also no ones mentioned that in some series he's a cabover (uk style truck) and others, he's a conventional (cab behind engine) style truck. And what about Megatron! he turns from an Optimus sized robot into a gun...

I was watching the return of optimus prime parts 1 & 2 yesterday, love those episodes :|

Suppose i'll have 2 give up things like that on wednesday when i reach the grand old age of 21, i'll have 2 become mature, wear slippers a cardigan and smoke a pipe :'(

I'm 40!! And the only reason I get up early enough to have breakfast before work is to watch Transformers (was Energon now Cybertron) on ITV2 @ 7:25am !!
