right i have the guy and will be doing it well i want to but i jut want some info on gains and what it does to get some understanding and why people remove it
EGR: Exhaust Gas Recirculation, basicly the ECU dumps out exhaust gases into the inlet to lean out the air/fuel mixture and burn off some of the unburnt fuel (hydrocarbons). Not sure there would be a niceable difference in running except for perhaps an increase in response.
hum right im planning on getting an exhaust manifold also taking the cat out .. how does this effect everything ive kinda looked trought my haynes manual and all sounds crazy with this ECC carb and EEC system.. and the EGR..
i need to know the important details to get this stuff out and sorted without problems
this removes all the EGR (exhaust gas recirc) system.
dont remove the ECC system or any of the rest of it, you have the ability to have your ECU remapped and having the ecc means you have a mass of tuning potential available including fitting turbo's and the such
removing the EGR will easily free up a fair amount of power (take the CAT out also, which you will when you replace the exhaust system)
