So ive got T In The Park tomorrow and my wellies are looking pretty dull. Ive got about half a tin of red primer left and was wondering if anybody knows if it will work?
My dads a painter and decorator and he says it wont but he's the type of dad who doesn't like me doing anything.

Cheers for any replies:grinning:

u need paint laquer and primer mate sand the ###### out of em to get em clean use sandpaper (different grades) and scouring pads then use paper to mask off the tyres and paint away- primer x1 paint x 2 laquer x 2

Jesus I didnt think they would need all that. I might just leave it then. Its only because i have some primer left and i thought id make them funky:blues:

So were saying that JUST primer wont work?

Cheers

nope it won't work, rubber flexs too much, you would need a rubber based paint that could flex with it.

you can do it just not with car paint, it will flake off pretty much instantly

Damn!!

Well it was worth a try, Ive got nothing to do today so i might go for some paints. I searched on google and it says to use Acrylic Paints.
Cheers for the replies

i say, give it a try :grinning: as long as you knock the shine off with a scourer, and give it a thin coat, it,ll last for a day or two

There's stuff called "plasti-dip" IIRC, which is basically rubber paint in a can!
It flexes with the rubber! :)

Yeah i thought that haha

My mate says his sister has a "Paint Your Own Wellies" set so hes gonna steal that from her and give it to me. The advantages of having thieves for mates haha.

Lets hope its all dry and ready to rumble for tomorrow.
