2005 K12 I had an issue some months ago when a mechanic fitted a remote start for me. After collecting it from him I discovered the central locking was not operating from either of my remotes. He was unable to offer a solution. I tried the routine of switching on and off key in ignition as was described elsewhere in the forum, no good.
My Daughter needed a remote fob supplied and programed for her car and arranged for a mobile Locksmith to call to my home. I mentioned my K12 issue to him and he said he had come across it before. He sorted it in a couple of minutes. He removed the top part of the shroud between the steering wheel and the instrument cluster, he showed me a wire with a white connector, he separated the connector and central locking worked. The down side of doing this is the the radio will not work without the key in the ignition. I should have taken a picture when he had the cover off but I was able to lever it up on one side and take a pic of one side of the plug which should enable the wire to be identified. I hope that this may be of assistance to someone. Regards.
