Rattling noise?

When stood in neutral with my foot OFF the cutch, but goes when on it.

It also kicks in around 40mph aswell, but putting te clutch down doesn't remove it :S.

Any ideas?

Exhaust rattle possibly, caused by the vibration of the engine.

Its the clutch i think, needs new plate(s).

clutch pedal might be bit loose, my mums rattles but if you rest your foot on it without pressing the pedal it goes away until you take your foot off

dont know if that makes sense but it does to me.

Just from the type of noise it's making, and that when I compress the clutch it stops.

I reckon its play in pressure plate.

throwing parts at a car in the hope of fixing something, is an expensive way of finding out it's a loose bolt.

Ensure ALL your heatshields are tight etc. Ensure everything is right and in good condition before spending money on clutches etc.
