quick computer question

got my laptop linked to the main computer via the network port, how would i transfer files over from the laptop to the desktop via the cable?

Put them in the shared docs file maybe?? Or allow each computer to see the other one so you can just copy files straight over. Hope this helps.

both connect via cable in network ports, if that helps, dont know what a swicth hub is

make sure the IP addresses are set up correctly too

Check the ends of the cables. If all 8 wires inside are in the same order at both ends then you have the wrong cable

The cable was being used with a router before, I've had him run the network setup programs on both and activated sharing and nothing still.

Me and computers have never been friends

all started one christmas day when i got my first computer.brand new on windows 95, my speakers wouldnt work, so i looked on the back and there was a switch which said 240/115 or similair numbers. so i flicked it over thinking that is why my speaker arent working and BANG
