Each to their own, I personally couldn't possibly consider spending all that money on a car that looks like an R34 and end up with a car that is less tuneable and isn't 4WD. The only explanation I can come up with is that R34 GTRs are ilegal in the states, so this is one way of driving one other there.
The US is funny like that; GTRs = illegal, 9mm Glock 19 = perfectly legal.
It reminds me of the guy that chopped up a nice looking NSX and turned it into what he thought looked like an F50, but in my opinion is quite a long way from being an F50.
