PistonHeads.com: First UK R35

wow lucky git! haha

for some reason i still think 50k is a lot for a jap car, i know i am a little brand conscious so for that kind of money i would go for something a better brand etc haha

Put 50k into what brand?

Jaguar that are struggling financially?
Ford?
Kia?
Vauxhall?
BMW?

I know if I had 50k, It'd be going to a Jap company, be it Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, or whatever.

name a 50k car that could beat a skyline for technology, speed comfort or uniquness.

AUDI RS4/ AUDI S5

BMW 5 SERIES/ BMW X5 ETC

PORSCHE

you could argue until the cows came home, but if your bias and you like a certain brand your gunna go for it, its called successful advertising, they got you when you were young!!

No way would I have an X5 over an R35, and would an RS4 really be quicker than an R35? It's designed to compete with the Porsche 997 Turbo, not some hot rep hatch!

Im with James (go on mate lol)!!! id go for the R35 for looks over the RS4 anyday imo!
the white and black R35 colour scheme (above) definetly looks sweeeeet!!!!

Your joking right?

now thats just being small minded, id have an rs4 anyday over a skyline

ten years an rs4 will be worth 10k

ten years r35 = 5-8k!!

to me an audi presents more value for money, and insurance friendly aswell as reasonable efficiency and practicality!!

just MY OPINION

i reakon the R35 will hold its value better than that.

If he can afford to import and pun this thing then i'm sure he can afford to import parts too!

Anyway 10 year old skylines go for up to 12k now!

for a 93 rs2 (a baby rs4) you would be looking to pay in the region of 15-20k depending on condition!
think of another 15 year old car in the same class that holds its value as well as that??

01 plate r34 skyline - 11k as above

oh dear, that makes that almost 7 year old, audi rs2 is a 94 (14 year old)and thatl go for 10k easy, theres also a 95 i think for 15k!!! german engineering is a fine art, like i said its just what you prefer, a japanese car will never be worth more than a german car in the used car market,it just doesnt happen, well very rarely anyways!! the r35 is a nice car,but has an aroma of kia cerato about it!! no offence

also here is a 98 skyline for under 8500, just for both sides of the argument

An Audi may have oodles of technology tucked away, but they are in no way as reliable as a Nissan, not only that, Audis are constructed so that it is impossible to work on them yourselves without spending serious dollar on specialist tools, the Nissan is a far better option imo.

we are not saying the new skyline is a bad car or a loser being compared to the european competitors. it is down to personal perferences only, jap cars are reliable and all but the badge just dont win me over.

mind you i am not the sort who would buy a 20 year old BMW instead of a top of the range micra just to show off, but for 50k i could buy something a tad bit better than nissan.

one question you gotta ask yourself though - with the lottery jackpot, would you stay with jap only or would you also like to try out a merc, bmw, lotus, porsche, ferrari?

i just think the european cars can suit more occasions if u know what i mean, an M3 for instance wouldnt look out of place visiting the local shop, picking girlfriend up, picking up mum and dad-in-law, race down the pod and taking mates to pub and clubs etc etc.

pretty much like the debate between golf GTI vs civic type r, CTR would win hands down in all sort of areas but as an all rounder (plus the badge as well) GTI truimphed as car of the year.

With a lottery win I would have a Lotus Exige for a toy and a Toyota Landcruiser for an everyday car, I'd probably blow a fortune on other fads and whims along the way though, I'd keep my March as well of course.

Heehee...

£50,000 = 355 Spider! (And before I get roasted, I know, not the same thing, reliability blah blah blah :)

Got to say that is a lot of money for the skyline, wonder if they would have been better off not creating such a technological masterpiece and making it more accessible for those who really want one but don't have the spare funds? Or maybe making a couple of versions, one considerably cheaper and in a state of de-tune?

Cor it's massive compared to the white R34 in front of it in some of those shots! Scary stuff driving it for sure!

Lucky sausage though!
