I reckon Nex will have this in his in no time! And it also remembers 10 fingers, so you could register all ten just incase you cut one / lose one etc

Pretty silly though you still have to use the keys to give it power. They should somehow get it to trigger accessory power aswell as startup.. but if you know what your doing with electrics, that would probably be possible anyway

They don't work with dead fingers, but if you heat them up and make them moist by licking them or something they work. So on cold days you may have problems.

If your putting the key in and putting it to position 2 or whatever, you might aswell turn it the final stage and start the car. I doubt this finger print reader thing tells you how to butcher your cars ignition wiring to remove the key startup method, and god knows what problems that would cause with immobilizer systems like nats!

It connects to an immobilizer, it isn't an immobilizer itself, it's basically a switch.

It's not a new technology, laptops have been coming with biometric fingerprint scanners for a few years now and our school library had a fingerprint reader to take books out about 5 years ago.

As for the 5 mins quote, the laptop ones i've used are pretty quick, they take seconds to use, much quicker than typing a password in!
