Not much, they just have the details of 2million people on child benefits... Governements lost em in the post... shoulda posted them recorded delivery :_|

thats why we DO need id cards, our personal data is so poorly protected that boiometric proof is the only answer to stopping fraud !
 
Well I got nothing to worry about I have a JOB!!! lol.
Also it was lost in internal mail so rec. delivery wasn't an option.
Anyway I'm off to take the new jag for a spin....

Surely this benefit includes family allowance ollyc, which I think most parents are entitled to! I know my mum still gets it for my sister!
 
Yeah since the uk population is only 60m, i think it was 20m peoples details (got the figure wrong in earlier post i think) thats like 1/3rd of everyone...
 
Trust the government though, probs them that stole it cos our taxes aren't enough.
Still, hopefully that'll change with the petrol strikes. The government is not very popular atm.
 
I'll believe the petrol strikes when I see them. Everyone seems to talk the talk but not walk the walk.

Like you said olly, I have a job! I don't have time during the week to picket fuel companies!

so when you buy something online you just press your finger to your finger print scanner and your iris detector? then bobs your uncle.......what do you mean you havent got one? :laugh: :laugh:


it makes no difference if you have an id card or not. whos gonna see it?
the problem with it is that its against human rights laws. they can store all sorts on it. like ethnic origin, beliefs, religion, criminal record (weather correct or not) so say for instance you once punched a police man whilst drunk. they would lable you a violent police beater and would probebly arrest you just for looking at one funny.

i hate the idea and will leave the country if they come in. its pathetic as what if your moving to this country? and dont have one? you have a passport and a driving licence, but no id card.."sorry sir your not you anymore cos you dont have one of these"........its stupid.

i dont know which country you,ll move to because in 20 odd european countries id cards are compulsary ( belgium since 1919 )
 
You know technically this is old news, they lost the CD's wayy back in october. and only just thought to tell us. I think the PM has been hitting his crack pipe a little too much if he thought they could keep it a secret.
 
government is making it hell on earth to work in a bank. Its nearly impossible to get anything done with people whining on about lost data and bla de blah. Theres VERY little you can do with an account number and a sort code, or even a pin number if you dont have other data.
So, Mr Brown, in the unlikely event that you are reading this, please stop ######ing up and let me get on with my job so i dont have to keep stopping, going downstairs to a call centre and getting moaned at by people who survive off their child benefit.
