gauge cluster problem

Hello all, I’ve looked through the site for an answer to a problem I have, but haven’t been able to find it, so I’ve started this thread in case someone can help me with it! I recently fitted a mk2 facelift cluster to my little mk1 facelift as it didn’t have a tachometer and wasn’t a difficult job, and all went well until i noticed that the mileage now reads 58 odd thousand miles instead of a (sadly) more truthful 107 thousand. I was wondering if I could just swap the mileage displays round as ive heard somewhere that the mileage is stored in it or whether i would have to use some sort of software to alter the replacements readout. Thanks for any help in advance!

Chops.

yes it needs the eeprom chip dumping and re proing with the correct milage, there are companies that can do it for a fee
