Boot carpet recommendations

Motorworld sell Autoleads black box carpet for about £16 a roll.. looks really nice! halfrauds sell the same stuff for about £25

i'd personally go with the autoleads stuff myself. Big name in the audio world and having personally bought three rolls recently, i cant fault the stuff. Other carpet's may fall apart or stretch easily leaving you dissapointed. Quality comes at price!

The stuff from Maplin's is really nice and soft is extremely cheap. Although it's not as thick as the autoleads stuff, it makes the autoleads stuff feel really coarse in comparison.

Goldstar, thats the stuff i got off ebay n its class - does the job perfectly, dont understand why it needs to be branded but that black carpet is really soft and if u get a tin of spray glue stuff from B&Q for like £1 it works a treat - thats what i did anyway - will get a pic later

Cheers Ben!
It is my first attempt at an install so it's probab;ly gonna go wrong and re-do so don't wanna waste cash on expensive carpet!
It just needs to look tidy manily and I'm happy!

heh if its prob gonna go wrong go for the cheap stuff man! :) if ie the one ebay if the carpet is really that crap in the end u only lost £7 which isnt much

just out of curioisity how can carpet be crap? Its only there to cover the wood, its not like its going to be used to carpet my living room.

lol hes right like i said just go for the cheap stuff :p

have done :p
It just has to look the part, it's when I come to sound proof I'm worried as that stuff costs a few pence!

What benefit is sound proofing?

sound proofing = better sound within the car it can even add a few db's ive heard :) just some info but with pro sound systems the mental people fill their car doors /panels etc... with fricking concreate n crap to sound proof it!

ive used aquua seal on a few cars and it is ment to deadenmt he metl vibrations.
ive used the expanding foam in places it does not obstruct other articles etc as this also cusion and deadens the outside noise aswell which u WILL notice the difference

Expanding foam is ok in the boot lid....but just watch it doesnt clog up the boot mechanism, rear wiper, etc!!!

Dynamat Extreme is the best soundproofing, and recommend for use on things like your front doors. However, it 'is' expensive!

I know, I'm not that keen on spending that kinda cash on that yet, might just use some fleece or something to "deaden" the door a bit

Is that what you've used on yours? does an awesome job if it is!

its that fibre glass stuf that you put on your roof. i put dynamat on my doors and boot floor but crammed all the nook and crannys with loft insulation. couldnt hear any rattling and ambient noise was kept to a minimum as well. works a treat.
