Hmm this is a late one for me. (again) i tend to say up this late when im doing programming or something. I have just got the USART transiever working on a pic microchip. Its receiving data from hyper terminal displaying it on a 16x2 lcd screen and echoing it back to hyper terminal. hmm i cant find a nerd icon. lol

Not quite paddymarsden! It will eventually become an RS485 based digital sequencing/firing system for firework displays I do lol. I just needed to learn how the PIC USART works. Now I have that sussed I can start on a making a network protocol for what I need it to do. I hadn't thought of doing anything pc based with it really. The LCD is just showing that the PIC is receiving comms correctly as more of a debug.
