its -10 here,
and actually the snow tyres do nothing now, even at 20mph i hit a bit of thick snow and it just spins the car, just going to the shops i lost control 3 times,
but i love it, its so much fun, people moan about the snow but i think it makes life a little more interesting

it scares me when it goes really bad, like i am heading for a ditch or another car. there was a time when this snow plow truck was coming the other way and it takes up a lot of space on the road so i slowed down to pull over to get out of its way and the wheels locked up and it drifted towards the middle of the road, even when i took my foot off the brake the steering did nothing. luckily i was far enough over for the truck to get past but it was pretty scary.

snow chains on a 4x4 maybe, but we are talking serious snow here, as in the snow plow truck goes up the road and by the time it has come back the road is under 5" of snow again, the big problem is that the snow is so deep that its catching the bottom of the car and throwing it around, it doesn't help that my k11 is slammed!
also there is so many kinds of snow, i never realised it until i came here, for example there is this fast snow that falls very quickly and is made up of tiny balls, like hail but smaller and white, then there is powdery snow that moves with the wind like smoke, and there is sticky snow which is more of the kind you get in the UK, which just turns to mush.
but here the snow doesn't go mushy or icy no matter how many cars drive on it, its almost like sand, it even sounds like sand when you walk on it, not like English snow that makes this "compacting" noise when you walk on it, very strange stuff

well its still snowing here, up to a meter now, they have stopped gritting and salting the roads because it is too cold, this morning they were using a JCB to scrape the ice off the roads, it was about 5" thick of solid ice,
got drifting round roundabouts down to a T now!

its mad weather!
i find it interesting to say the least lol i love driving in the snow i find all the quiet roads and decide that the hand bake is needed for every corner
am i sad or do others do this lol
