52 1.0L S not starting

HI all, my 52 plate 1.0L S Micra sounds to be attempting to turn over but wont start. what is it likely to be and any links on How to do it. Basic DIY mecanic trying to progress beyond Brake pads and wheel changes.

Check for spark, check for fuel...

and check for faultcodes too

Check ecu plugs are pushed in tight.
Check the dogone ign switch

How do i find fault codes? and where are the ECU plugs? and dogone ign switch?

have you checked its sparking tho jay ? and tried a drop of fuel down the throttlebody? and code reader

Code reader i ent got, so codes gonna be difficult, think its sparking will check in the morning tho and tried fuel in throttle body.

If its sparking, and you have got fuel... You're gonna have fun

And i bought the car as a cheap but fun runaround :-( so far new battery (£80) new plugs (£16), needs a new driverside rear light cluster (Approx £30), Needs new rear tyres (£??) and now this :-( Want my car to be good not troublesome.
