1.0 consumption

Hi there
I have a 1.0 of 2001 and just made 450 kilometers (279 miles) with 36 liters, with a normal driving, and he consumed 7,9 liters in 100 kilometers with no air-con, my car is completely stock, even the air filter is stock and got now 48900 kilometers. Is it normal 7,9?

yeh i know... is near my s14a...
the car was from old person, and notice that between 4500 and 5000 rpm a udge loss of power, it seems that he is making a lot of effort what is it? I don't know

air flow meter and lamba sensor seem good places to start. does it stink? if so could be catalyst, also is the engine light on?
