ok the cars jacked up with the old shock n spring out n for some reason i cant veiw the guide on here :S so can someone please tell me what tourqe tha bolts need to be tightend to, theres a table in the guide but i cant get to it, if some one could show me the suspension diagram aswell that would be really helpfull.

cheers

You don't need to a torque wrench on these, well i've never used one on mine and it's all ok!

You can't over tighten them by hand if that's what you're worried about. Tighten them to the same tightness they were when you removed them

i doubt you could sheer the suspension bolts they are very high grade botls considering they are on a very underpowered car :p

you got the carbs on yet dave? post up some pics of how the beast is coming along!

carbs will go on soon i hope, problem is doing a-levels and working all weekend its very difficult to find much time to work on the car, plenty of time over christmas tho so she should be finished by then. oh and can anyone suggest somewhere in the southeast/kent area where i can find a rolling road. lol

got the suspension changed last night was suprised at the amount of difference the 35mm makes to the look of the car. i can say that speedles method does work. however! i still need to tighten the locking nut on the top of the srut to the correct tourqe. i cant seem to clamp the shock to stop it from turning, no matter how hard i clamp it the nut just wont go any tighter without turning the shock, is this because it wont go any tighter or do i need to find a better tool to hold the strut.

cheers

hi mate

glad you managed to do it ok, the top strut bolt should only be tightened up until the nut starts the shaft spinning so how you have it should be fine any tighter and you will never get them off again.

i never do those nuts up to tight as i know what a mofo they are to get off, ive never had one come loose on me.
