isnt it hard to weld cast iron?

Basicly yeah, really bad material to weld with although not as bad as magnesium. lol

wont be welding with it chaps, i suspected it would be iron which is a bummer, ill be cutting the flange off the original manifold and getting a steel one made up from my friends machining firm, then it'll be welded onto the k11 NME maniflow manifold more power! whoopy!!!!

Is it possible to make an aluminum one or will that melt?

no idea mate, but the K11 manifold is steel so i need a steel flange to be able to weld it together in the best possible way. i would have thought ally wouldn't be to good for an exhaust manifold hence why steel is used most of the time

Yeah I want to make my own manifold so I am just getting an ideas of materials to use.

steel for the exhaust mate, ally is fine for the inlet or steel

Can't go wrong with stainless steel i'd imagine. It's what all decent exhaust systems are made of

any chance of getting 2 of the exhaust flanges made up? ill cover costs+, im sure im not the only one that would be interested in one? let me know, it will save me alot of time

ok mate well if anyone else wants a flange done let me know i ask to have several made, will make getting manifolds to fit alot easier!

no idea at the moment mate, bob would know that better than me as he had one made in the past i'm happy to pay anywhere up to £100 but i wouldn't have thought it would be that much

ok my mate has spoken to his mate about getting some flanges made up etc etc so its all not a problem etc i'll got chat to him tonight about it all and hopefully get a price in the next few days and then we can all benifit from this
