I have been buying and repairing these for some time now & the price of broken ones has crept up to around £20 to £25 depending on what is with them, Funny how once there repaired you get about 15 quid for them so now there is no point doing them any more fact is im better off selling them busted on ebay some things I just cant work out...

Should do ps3's I bought a few for £30 for not playing BR and PS3 games, but play normal DVDs! Usually I stick the lens cleaner in and they work again sometimes I change the drive still make 50-60 per unit

Well going to give these up as its a waste of time doing them now, what i should do is advertise them as rrod on fleabay and when they get them and plug them in lmao

Lol rrod always worried me was paranoid it was gonna happen then the damn thing just stopped reading discs! So I bought a ps3 an that did the same lol

there easy enough to do. a lot of it has to do with the crap lead free solder they use on boards! like a child will dismantle one and come into contact with it.

Lol I know yeah so do you reckon it'll be the cd drive causing the xbox issue I've got? I've had it out cleaned the laser but nothing changed

It could be its easy enough to sort if you had another drive, just take the drive out turn upside down remove base cover 4 screws 1 in each corner and remove the circut board there is 4 ribbon cables if memory serves me right put this board into your new drive as the drives are tied to main board and you cant just pop one in from another xbox you then have a new drive that is corresponding to the main board sorted.
