Xbox 360 Help

don't get a core pack. Game do some decent offers. If you buy a special VGA cable, you can plug it into your PC monitor for HD resolutions. If you hang on until november a premium pack will cost you £220 though.
 
Well i've just got £280 from my college, lol so im gonna treat myself...

How much is the Premium pack now, and best place to buy?
 
Hold off till PS3 is out, theres alot of rumours about intergrated HD DVD and HDMI output along with bigger HD's, microsoft need to do something to compete with the high standard of the PS3
 
Wouldn't be without my 360, online is amzing and if you downloads windows media centre its great for playing your mp3's/vid's/photos wirelessly from your pc/laptop to tv....

get rid of my dvd player as no longer needed...
 
Whatever happens, the original Xbox 360's will be upgradable to the changes made to the future ones.

BTW MichaelD, does it cost money to play online? Discarding the ISP.
 
No they won't daz, the new ones will just be pricey making you think you got what you paid for

360's at moment get the HD DVD addon but it's not true HD DVD as it still runs through USB and will not play true HD on a HD TV, it's meant to allow bigger games mostly.

Microsoft will release a full HD DVD 360 as thats the format they support and it's needed to keep 360 alive when the PS3 comes out

xbox live is a yearly subsrciption but I get free online on my original xbox via a program on my PC, 360 will be compatible in time
 
Yeah I would say if anyone wants a true media centre setup in their living room, get an Xbox 360 and run a PC with Windows XP Media Center Edition, you can use all the stuff from the PC on the Xbox including TV tuners etc!

To play online, you need a Gold Xbox Live subscription which is £40 a year, but totally worth it - Microsoft certainly got online play right in both Xboxes, it's an integral part of a lot of games now :)

Edit: Goldstar, whats wrong with USB? I'm assuming its USB2 which means it will be capable of data rates of up to 480 megabits a second, much higher than Serial ATA. Unless you heard this from MS themselves I wouldn't be so sure yet.

Edit 2: I'm officially stupid. I thought Serial ATA was 150mbit, but its 150mbyte :blush:

There's not many games but there are some good ones

I want a 360 once it's had it's upgrade as there's a load of potential for them like my current xboxes. Will make the ultimate portable media cenrte when I'm done!
 
You can't even get NFSU2 for the 360. You can get NFS Most Wanted though. I've got that and PGR3 and tbh PGR3 wins hands down every time as Most Wanted is just a poor port of the Xbox version.

Only 30fps too. PGR3 is 60 lol :)
 
Perfect dark zero is ok... personaly i think the 64 version is way better :) lol

i dont really rate the 360 atm

indeed microsoft is going to release a smaller version of the 360, packed with a 20gb HD and costing less, i heard its in the region of 200 ish, to compete with the release of PS3.

based on the spec provided by both consoles, the 360 is actually much more powerful in terms of everything from processing power to graphics card. it depends what sort of games you like.

arent the 360 games £50? which is about $100 lol @ goldstar :) same price

That Table Tennis game was released last month. They released it with the plan of being cheap.

And you can pick up most 360 games in your local Tesco for £40 max :)
 
that table tennis game, was made to be cheap :p so u cant use that lol but the when all the *NEW* games are released they start at about £50 in-store price :) im not fussed paying a little extra for PS3 games. Since PS3 need money back on the Blu Ray discs, and CELL :) i dont rate the 360 as being a next gen console anyway :) nothing really next gen about it.

PS3 has Cell + Blu Ray
Wii has the controller

im not saying its crap, ive played on them. Its ok for the money. The varity of games is shocking really, that has to be said :) On release of the 360 the main games were.

PG3, DOA5 (i think) etc etc...

all the games had been seen on the Xbox.

Only couple of games over £40, Halo3 and LOTR, you expect these as people will be silly enough to pay that price instead of waiting a month.

The game quality of the 360 is very nice but at £50 a game on PS3 and a £410 price of the console, I'd be wanting spectatular, which I do believe is what we'll get, Microsoft will have to do something to mach the standard
 
like i said earlier on there is no comparison in terms of processor power and graphics because the 360 will win hands down. (do a search or something if you dont believe me) its a matter of whether the game developers can create their games that can squeeze the best performance out of these consoles. Halo 3 might be the one for 360 while new grand turismo might be the secret weapon for PS3.

im not so sure on power... ive read spec listings after spec listings, and they all are different. Im just going to wait until they are both done and then compare :)

imo i think the PS3 will have way better graphics, and as far as games the PS3 will win again. :)

for stupid games lol i will buy a Wii :grinning:
 
The argument of which is/will be better is always a good one yet useless as each console will have it's unique qualities and it's downsides.

Each will have a bunch of games only for that console and thats how people will most likely decide what to own. You won't see Tekken or GT on 360 like you won't see Halo or PGR on PS3.

For me I'll own both in time!
