Wheel offsets

Hey guys wondering what wheel offsets we can run on the micras to fill the guards and have some dish on say 14's.

Any one have any idea.

i've got +38 on 6.5" wide wheels and it fills the front out almost perfectly. site a little in at the back though.

+38? Weak +25 or thereabouts with a 6.5" wheel will make it about flush on the fronts from memory. If it doesn't fit in the guard, then add camber

hey dens do you have any pics of the actual dish on the wheels. The ones i am looking at are around P18

Just so you know, dish does not = offset. You can get high positive offset wheels with sort of 'fake' dish and similarly you can also get closer to ±0 offset with a flat-face and no dish - the centre hub will just go further back than it would if there was some dish and the centre was pushed back.

Depending on the width, +18 is generally a pretty agressive offset with standard guards - can't guarantee that they'll fit but if they do, it'll be damn near flush. I would highly recommend test-fitting them first to see how they fit if you can.

That is the thing i am after man. Exact same dish you got there. They are the performance brand superlites. They come with +36 +26 +18 +12 so not sure which one to get. Unfortunately i have to order them through work then i can return them

With stock guards i'd be leaning towards the +26 option. Anything more and you're really pushing it and you may just not fit them under the guards. I've been meaning to measure up those wheels as I don't know what the offset actually is. I'll measure them up and let you know. I've actually been doing some calculations recently to try and find out what width/offset combo I need to fill out some rather large overfenders (without using spacers, which are for people that don't buy the right wheels ). As an example:

Note with the negative offset wheel the amount of the wheel width that's in front of the hub - significantly more than that of the high offset wheel. Pictures would make this easier to demonstrate but hopefully you can get the gist.

It doesn't take much to work out offsets, but to figure out how far is too far, you need to measure the distance between the hub and the guard lip - which could be done with some large rulers and set-squares methinks.

yeah might just go the +26 then. See how that goes. If i get stuck with the rims flares it is.

Where can you get flares for the K11's. I have never seen them anywhere

Japan People in the UK do some ****ty knockoffs too, but no one in the UK even knows what the word 'offset' means it seems I shudder every time I see someone over there putting on 'killer wide arch flares' and using ****ing +40 skinny wheels. There should be a law about that. Makes me mad.

Actually there is a law against it here.. it prevents you from increasing track such a ridiculous amount, but this is purely for track purposes, of course.

You won't want flares for +26's - you need much more agressive offset when putting on flares which makes finding wheels with the right with and offset even more of a challenge. I did look at the performance challengers as an option but I decided against it for now.

I'm quite confident that you'll fit them under the standard guards however because you're running coilovers you will quite likely have to bash in the inner lip at the back and possibly the front too, but with a heatgun and a dead-blow hammer it's an afternoon job.

yeah if i find flares i wil get the +12 that they do. That would look phat. But with the rolling of the lip i will get the panal shop up here to do it properly for 60 bucks a corner.

my misses has 25mm offset on the front, and 2mm on the n/s/r, and 10mm on the o/s/r (thats 5, 1/2 j,s tho)
so you could go for 2x 26,s (with some neg) an 18 and a 12 (and not need an adjustable panhard rod)

Yeah lipping the guards is a bitch of a job, but I wasn't prepared to fork out that kind of money just to do something I can do with tools I already have (dead blow hammer is ~$25 at bunnings which wasn't bad).

Frank - even though the rears would usually sit in a bit more than the fronts, I had much bigger issues getting the rears to not scrub despite them being the same offset as the fronts. I do find it quite interesting that you're using completely different offsets on the rear to avoid using an adjustable panhard rod, but would it just be better to have the axle centred and have the geometry adjusted relative to the suspension rather than the wheels?

I'm just thinking that it *could* put excess lateral strain on the rear struts or something - when the suspension goes up, but then I could be talking out of my arse again as I'm having a hard time imagining what it would actually do..

Haha, I suppose that's the price you pay for living in a place that has as much rain as we have drought The rusting front crossmember issue seems to be a much bigger problem for you brits than it is for us (with there only being a few serious cases documented from australians on here). That's getting a bit off-topic though.

I take it you're just using bolt-on spacers for those steelies then?

I do actually remember seeing that picture now Nice work. I had intended this for a set of 15" steelies a long while ago but because they were so heavy I just decided to go with lighter wheels with the correct offset already Saves money and time at least. That said, it's still been in the back of my mind ever since for my daily.

From memory the company ROH can provide the outer hoops for those who want to do their own - I was going to source a set from them but didn't bother for the above reason.

I did also miss out on a set of awesome offset and really cool looking steelies a while back on Yahoo JP, but oh well. They were like 15x7 +25 which would have sat like the Simmons I have.
