I've found my stero (because mum hid it in the house when I bought the car) & I put it in & I noticed on it, it says something like: mp3, CD-R, CD-RW (I guess thats what it plays) but when I put it in theres no space for me to put cd or an aux slot to put it in.

When I push the release button it obviously turns off & behind it is the slot where you put cd, so I turned the ignition on & it wouldn't go in.

What am I doing wrong?

Yeah sounds like theres already a cd in. Try ejecting but if that doesnt work just have a poke in with a flat small flat head might be a cd inside and the motors bust inside. And does the player even have an aux? sometimes its in a phono format on the back of the player next to phono out
