Check the wiring coming from them? Trace the wires back from directly behind the lamps and see where they go... Possibly they have been replaced at some point and are maybe just spliced onto the sidelights or headlights......... Not a professional job but have done it to many a car myself lol but even if they are they could still be put onto a switch reasonably easily
