Rear wiper conversion

Which model and reg micra have the wipers that start/finish horizontal?

Mine starts/finishes vertically and don't like it but don't want to remove it!

...goldstar - theres a guide somewhere that shows you how to modify your existing motor so that it lands aiming sideways...!

do a search or something :p

dont think any of them do. Could be wrong like but im sure they all vertical, they need to be modified to go horizontal - as dusk says, im sure Wayne made a guide about it

I think its 2000+ that have them horizontal, u just need to wip the motor and the wiper out and swap them onto urs and job done....

its easy. simply remove the back pnel remove the surplus clip and remove the arm. take the motor off. and simply turn it to the designated position.

(best to have set it off whilst watching how far it turns, that way u kno how far to turn it round ;))

then simply put the arm back on and it shall now turn further.

---------------------------------------------

i have seen models before aswell were you needed to actually turn the motor over so that when it sets the motor going it is in reverse rather than clockwise . :)

it doesn't work you have to mod the motor....

i have done the mod to my motor and it looks the don!

BTW it doesn't work because the wiper still goes from left to right and you need to reverse the action or it will end up wiping your numberplate! Belive me i've done it :)

"Wiping your numberplate" that cracked me up!

* sees images of a K11 wiping downwards with a puzzled owner looking at it *

hehe you should have seen me  i put my wiper on 90 degrees round, went into the car to switch the wiper on and hear people laughing, go round the back of the car and look puzzled hehe

in my defence i hadn't had any breakfast and i was't on top form, at the time it was so obviously going to work and i couldn't understand why it didn't...

but now it looks smooth with my modded motor :) I Knocked up a motor for Dr Nokia too,
and he seemed happy with it :D

erm, can u not undo the little nut that holds the wiper arm on, move the arm down and tighten the nut, then go to the wiring for the motor and reverse the +/- wires so the motor works backwards?
Just a thought...

that was almost perfect, i think i thought of that before but couldn't remember why it wouldn't work,

first there is a diode but that can be removed, then there is a worm gear which may not like working in reverse, but its the switched that tell the motor when to stop than might not work.

at the moment the wiper does 90 degrees from vertical to vertical but if you revese it i think it will go vertical to vertical but to two wipes as the arm has to do more revolutions before it switches off.

but i'm not 100% on that i'm going on what i can remember from the inside of the motor...

i dont have a wiper on the rear at all so if anyone knows where or how i can get one sorted that would be great its a real inconvenience to me. especially when its raining uberheavy

is there a hole that has been blocked off?

as far as i know every k11 has a rear wiper unless it's been removed so all you need is a new motor and wiper and it should all fit together...
