New K11 front strut no bracket for the abs wire!

Hi I'm hoping someone will be able to advise on a issue I have with replacing the front struts on a Micra K11 2001 facelift. I purchased new struts and springs a while back but when I went to replace the old ones, I noticed a problem with the new ones, in that they didn't have the two brackets for the ABS wire. They do have a bracket in basically the same place only they have a captive nut on each unlike the originals which have a slotted bracket into which the abs wire together with its rubber grommet fits. I checked on line and I can't see any other versions of this strut that are any different for the ones I purchased. Now you could say, just use a tie wrap through the captive nut and around the abs wire, but that's not the most elegant solution. I have tried to find a bracket to do this as I can't be the only person to have had this problem but I don't see anything, not a mention. So at the moment I think the only way to do this neatly is to fabricate my own bracket with a slot for the wire and bolt this on to the bracket on the new strut. But maybe I'm wrong and these brackets are available? I'm hoping someone in the club can advise on this issue. I have take some photos of the old and new struts to illustrate what I'm talking about.

Hello, I hpe hope that you have fixed the problem. Iwould like to change my front shocks but my local autospares inform me that they are no longer available. Can you tell me where you got yours andwhat are the part numbers. Thank you. i I live on the Shetland isles Scotland and have the last micra here and am trying to keep it going as at 86 years young it will be the last car that I buy, Thank you.

The front strut is available as a paten part. You should be able to find them online. My Micra K11 is from 2001 and I am fitting a new strut, spring and top mount and some other stuff. I think you can buy this as a complete assemble but I got the components and will take the original apart to get the garter and a few bits from them that I will still need. So you would need a spring compressor or someone to do this for you. I'm using the following 1. KYB strut 632080 2. KYB spring RA1111. If you need the top mount I will have to check if I still have the details as I got them some years back and never got round to fitting the. As as you can see, if you have ABS you will have to make up your own little brackets, I have orders a 3mm bar of mild steel to do this. I will try and post a picture with some dimensions when I've done it. Hope that useful.

Thank yo for the reply. I do not ha
I found the box for the top mount, it from febi bilstein and the part number is 103188 or the other number on the box 54320-1F500.
Hello, Thank you so much for the reply and information. I do not have abs and as my springs seem ok I hope that they will fit the new shock absorbers. I do like the k11 and would be very pleased if someone out there has a good low milage one for sale but as I live on an island I would have to travel some way to view it. Thank you once again and do keep the car going as they will be a classic some day. William.
