2003 Nissan Micra 1.4 SVE (Keyless entry and keyless start)

Appreciate some assistance please.
I have an issue with my BCM (no fog light & central locking not working properly)
Initially I sent it to ECU Testing who were unable to test it
however did they not charge me (so no loss).
Then I sent the unit to Remanx who have the testing capabilities. They found that the BCM unit input / output is functioning through their equipment, but could not establish why the unit itself was not functioning and suspected an issue with its memory. Anyway, I sourced a donor unit, sent it to them, they cloned the unit (copy from original to the donor), however it carried across the same error (no fog light and no central locking), hence they confirmed its a software problem which they cannot do anything about. They attempted a patch repair on the software but was unsuccessful. So I'm in a situation at the moment.
Any recommendations where I can get the software issue resolved, besides the main dealer? Not even sure if the main dealer is able to sort this software issue out on a car which is 22 years old now.
