Cheers Maarten. We are very happy shoppers. I'll have to see how we get on with the diff because for us its not the thing that will make our ideal k11 perfect. But it does have a nicer gear change and luckily the ratios seem fine (I would not want something that runs close to 4000rpm at 100kph! - as I initially feared after reading an old tech wiki thing about these boxes)
I did that thing this morning- the thing where you go out and look at your new car purchase and then check the dipstick with that slight fear of the unknown- will it be down- is the new car a little burner. Luckily the answer was good. Level is bang on. Sweet. Will buy new oil and filter today.
Battery on Millie drains over night- I suspect its the stereo. Definitely lights a bulb between a removed terminal and batt. For now we can remove the terminal at night.
New car (Melissa?) also might have a drain. Or a ****e battery. Will check also. Any ideas on other places to look that might be a common electrical drain.
Also- the ventilation fan in Millie doesn't work. We used to own a '96 Nissan Sentra and its fan only worked on 2 speeds. It turned out to be the resistor pack that screws into the fan ducting (to keep cool) . An easy swap with a new one. However- there are no speeds working on Millie. Could be a fuse. I need to find a pic of the fuse panel lid from an english car because on these jdm imports everything is written in Japanese.
