K12 - 2010 - refilling coolant

The high temperature warning lamp came on 3 days ago. When checking under the hood, quite a big area was wet from green/blue cooling fluid. After I have wiped all (a lot) of coolant away with paper, and added up with clean water I restarted the engine.
At last, I could see that coolant fluid slowly was leaking from beneath the Thermostat housing.
When I dismantled the house, I could see that the sealing was broken. No cracks in the housing itself.
I have now ordered a new thermostat with new gaskets. (I could for sure have made a new gasket by myself, but a new thermostat does no harm - the old thermostat is an aftermarket one by the brand Motorad? - 88°).
Question:
Is it really needed, when refilling coolant, to take the right hose (from the front) that goes to the cabinheater in the bulkhead off? It is shown on a YouTube video. It is quite difficult to reach, especially the clip that holds the hose. Some good advices from the experts in this group? Thanks.

You will have to fill the system very slowly once you have replaced the housing and gasket, this allows the the system to fill without air locks, the heater matrix needs to be on hot setting to allow new fluid to enter the matrix and fill up, if you try this with the slow fill (trickle feed) you may get away without removing the matrix hose, but there is no guarantees with this.
