Ok, so whats the deal here? I just inheritted a 30GB ipod and is there any specific HU's that can be adapted to the ipod? any way of playing your i pod in the car basically?

being none CE compliant can mean numerous things... like badly built, maynot work correctly or at all, may not be safe and could break your ipod, because the CE compliancy is for EVEYTHING that is sold in the EU, all have to coply to this basic standard, if it doesnt, you have to ask yourself why? its also broadcasts, so everyone tuning into the frequency you broadcast at, can here it, and its ilegal to broadcast in the uk without a licence

Yes and throughout most of europe, which is why it will never get ce certification.

If however you are lucky enough to live in the US, having fm transmitters is legal.

It's just one option, I know someone who ordered one of these this week but hasn't got it yet. I'll get his opinion if you want.

I know someone that HAS gone one, and its fine nothing wrong with it..
Not sure if its from that place however..

Alpine and Pioneer both have purpose made control boxes which allow you to control the IPod functions via the headunit.

Otherwise either get an Aux-in lead for your headunit if it is capable of taking one.

Or an FM modulator like already posted, which means you tune the IPod in via the headunits radio.

my mate has an FM ipod transmitter and he says its well good, his is alot smaller than that tho, and he can use it in his house as well

itrip isn't very good, theres a better one caaled tunedok that plugs into cigerette lighter so it charges as well. Works alot better and isnt affected by radio arials or large buildings u happen 2 b passing
