After unplugging my throttle body at the weekend to clean (a big mistake as it turns out), I had to call the aa out, as idling was erratic, and an engine warning light had come on. Aa bloke tried to do a reset with his scanner, but it failed twice, and he did a hard re set by disconnecting the battery for more than 10 mins. Great, that sorted the idling, but the esp warning light came on permanently. Power steering is fine. Garage said there is an error code relating to steering angle sensor. They didnt have experience to deal. The aa bloke mentioned same code, before he did the hard reset. It seems after the hard reset, the steering sensor is not initialising. Taking it to an auto electrician. Anyone else have anything similar happen? Found out my micra is an import (would explain the low miles and no rust at all). Garage did mention scan tools they use, may not work on an import. Thanks.
