My dad is having some trouble with the carb after cleaning it and putting it back on again. Since it has went back on, the choke is not working any more and it is looks fully closed however the car drives. Its like the choke isnt on at all.

What should be happening when the car is full warmed? should the choke butterfly be fully open? Like 90 degrees open?

OK I see the problem...

Its like the choke isnt on at all.

I think you mean that it is always ON (flap always closed)..

Yes, when the engine is warm the choke should gradually go OFF (OPEN)..yes 90degrees.

Normally the choke should gradually unwind by means of a bi-metallic coil in the black circular housing on the side of the carb.

My first thought would be that the electrical connection to the choke un-winder has simply been left disconnected when refitting...

Is this the case?

Otherwise the butterfly could be jammed closed (something stoping the unwinder from turning it...)but I think the electrical connection is the most likely cause...

Any use?
