First timer requiring advice - maf and throttle body problem

Also, re soldering the throttle body can be done in place, but I removed mine to do it ( but in my case it didn't make any difference to how the car ran ) my issue was high revving when cold, and disabling the wax stat cured the problem

First timer requiring advice - maf and throttle body problem

That's right monallyza, when you remove the spring and cam it effectively eliminates the mechanical side of the cold star system. I've done this to both my Micra's and it stopped the crazy high revving when cold, a big improvement.

First timer requiring advice - maf and throttle body problem

monallyza, if you follow pollyp's advice above and remove the mechanical/spring control of the waxstat ( so easy, just two small Philips screws, but just watch the spring for tension as it can "ping" off abruptly ) I think you will find this resolves your issue

    Change Heater control panel lights

Yes Ricardo, you can, there is usually enough of the old adhesive left to stick the fascia back on again. Might be worth warming it up before you try and remove it with a heat gun or hair dryer.

    Change Heater control panel lights

Hi Ricardo, the proper way to do it is to first remove the ash tray, then the four screws to allow the 'T' shaped front fascia to be removed, then undo the for screws that hold the heater control box in position and wiggle it around so you can get to the back of it to access...

New member with fuel pump issue

I would be disconnecting the fuel line where it attaches to the injector rail and pointing it into a bucket while someone turns the engine over to see if fuel pumps out. If not, then reconnect the fuel line, get in the car pull up the rear seat bench, undo the three screws to remove the...

    Ryan's Micra Blog

Hi flyboypuoi, sorry man didn't mean to be rude and hijack your thread, just seemed a good opportunity to inquire about central locking with someone who had experience of fitting it to a car that originally was without it. Your cars are coming along nicely too mate, keep up the good work !

    Ryan's Micra Blog

DannyG you mentioned that you fitted central locking to your micra, i would like to do the same to my 95 Super S and have a pair of genuine nissan front door solenoids, i am not bothered at this stage to have remote C/L, can i ask you what components you needed to do your install ?

    BlueSteel

Dash removal isn't that much of a chore really, I've done it a couple of times now, admittedly on my prefaces but I wouldn't have thought the newer cars would be too much different. It's a good chance to clean the vents and heater/cooling systems and get everything nice and tight again.

what did you do to your micra today ?

I feel your pain mate, electricals arn't my favourite. I have some factory central locking actuators that I would like to retro fit to my Super S but I carnt seem to figure them out and the wiring doesn't match up to the Haynes wiring diagram ( not sure if they are deadlock type either ) I...

what did you do to your micra today ?

Loving the center cup holder Andy, I recon these are so much better than the dash pod type everybody raves about ( I have a dash pod in my LX, and they are good if you like your Maccas coke as hot as a cuppa tea )

what did you do to your micra today ?

Rattler, maybe a bit obvious but are all the other rear lights working ok ( just the brake lights not ) if so perhaps start at the beginning, have you checked if the brake light switch ( that the brake pedal opens when you put your foot on the brakes ) hasn't become stuck/damaged ?

What did you do to your Cabrio today!

Nothing wrong with a healthy obsession Andy, and on the subject of stereos, personally I really like pioneer gear I have them in both of my micra's . The one in my LX is full digital ( no moving parts and super light ) no cd just radio and USB/iPod input with Bluetooth tethering to my phone

Sick of rust, want a k11 that will last

I feel your pain mate, i loved minis in the UK and always longed for a heritage shell to build my dream mini from. Now i live in Oz and the two micras i own are about as rust free as a twenty plus year old car can be [ just a tiny bit of surface rust under my front cross members ] other than...

what did you do to your micra today ?

Cheers Andy mate ! I really like it too, sporty but subtle. The spoiler is of course a genuine Ni$$an part, I have heard people call them "batwing" spoilers ? This one was originally painted in the pale green ( almond ? ) that the Impul cars came in. My car is a total rip off copy of an LX micra...
