DEFIANTLY axle stands if you have to go under the car bud, once old filter is off dip a finger in new engine oil and smear it around the rubber sealing ring ( I always "prime" my new filter by filling it with oil too ) and refit hand tight only. I just did this very same job on my Super S...

As others have said bud defiantly sounds like a Throttle Body issue to me. I had the same thing happen with my 95 LX so did the solder fix, didn't work for me I think I had left it too long before I got round to doing the job but luckily there was a K11 in a local scrappy ( not overly common...

Assuming it's the same as my 95' 1.3 Micra's, all you need is a 14mm socket to unscrew the sump drain bolt and a chain whip or pipe grips to undo the filter underneath the intake manifold, unless it's been done up by a gorilla in which case you may need to get under the car to pierce the filter...

hi mate welcome to MSC and all things Micra. I dont think the red stripe on your tailgate is from the factory, and your interior looks pretty tidy, though i have never seen a super s without a tacho dash.
