New slightly erratic idle & run - jolt off one lead? Ideas?

Glad i could help, i thought it would probably be the lead. It shouldn't zap you when both ends are plugged in. The insulation had probably split somewhere in the lead. Is it just spluttering when warm now? It might be worth changing the spark plug on that cylinder as if it's not been firing...

New slightly erratic idle & run - jolt off one lead? Ideas?

Thanks, i find stuff a lot easier to follow when i watch it which is why i make them, hopefully it will help a few people out. Forums are great but sometimes things can be misinterpreted when written or read. Hopefully the service sorts it out, let us know how you get on :)

New slightly erratic idle & run - jolt off one lead? Ideas?

Either way the logical process is figuring out the cylinder that's misfiring. You can swap the spark plug with another cylinder and see if the misfire jumps to that cylinder. If it does then the plug is faulty, if it doesn't then it's not the plug. So next step would be swap the leads and see...

New slightly erratic idle & run - jolt off one lead? Ideas?

Might be worth popping the dizzy cap off to clean the points off as well, the damp weather might have caused the inside to start corroding. I did a video on changing it the other day and mine wasn't far off packing up. Sent from my SM-G950F using Micra Sports Club mobile app

New slightly erratic idle & run - jolt off one lead? Ideas?

Is it misfiring or is it the idle just all over the place. If it's a misfire then the best thing to do is pull the leads off one at a time and figure out which cylinder it is. Once you've figure it out then pull the plug out and make sure it's ok, try turning it over with the spark plug plugged...

    Micra track car build

My latest fix on the Micra wasn't really a fix but more of a fault prevention. I've had numerous cars in the past that have broken down due to worn out parts in the ignition system and they always tend to do it when it's pouring down and pitch black. I didn't want to be stranded at the side of...

K11 Distributor cap and rotor arm change - How to

I've had numerous cars in the past that have suffered from a faulty distributor cap in the past and they tend to leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere in the pouring rain when you least want it. So instead of that happening again i decided to just service the ignition system before it...

    Jenny the 2002 K11 CVT 1.0

You'll find that the 1 litres use a lot more fuel once they go over 60mph. I always found that with mine, i used to just set off earlier and do 60 mph down the motorway. They always do better mpg with a manual box as well.

    Fave colour?

Definitely my favourite too, i remember the woman that owned the local Chinese takeaway buying one of these brand new when i was younger and i thought it was the coolest thing ever.

    Clutch problem

Have you got the cable clipped in all the mounting points? The only other thing i can think of if it's not that is that the release bearing hasn't been fitted properly, because the clutch is cable operated they're pretty simple and there's not a lot else it could be.

    Mileage

I average about 280 from my 1997 1.3 but i am running on semi slick tyres which probably doesn't help at all.

Heavily Misted Windows inside - Any Ideas/Settings to sort?

I had a leaky sunroof in my old Honda Prelude and i ended up blanking it off and even then it kept misting up even though it had been repaired for months and i thought it was still leaking but just turned out to be the damp. I left the dehumidified in there for a couple of days and it never...

    Cool looking K11 spoiler Name/Source

Yeah it is a Mulholland spoiler, you'll struggle to find one over here but tray the Australian Micra forums or Yahoo Auctions. You probably won't find one straight away but they do pop up now and again if you keep your eye open.

    Micra K11 misfiring

If you've changed the dizzy and plugs the only thing left in your ignition system really is the HT leads. That is providing you fit a brand new dizzy? because if it's a scrap yard one there's a good chance it's been sat out in the elements for a while and could be faulty. There's a possibility...

New slightly erratic idle & run - jolt off one lead? Ideas?

Did the lead jolt you when you removed it or when it was still plugged in at both ends?

Heavily Misted Windows inside - Any Ideas/Settings to sort?

I'd definitely make sure the sunroof drains aren't blocked up. If it's been in the foot wells before there's a good chance it's still damp even if you can't really feel it. Best solution is getting hold a dehumidifier and leaving it in the car for a couple of days and see if the damp comes...
