easy way to see if it is air flow and save you diagonsis cost is to unplug it and see if the engine runs better, if it does then the air flow is knacked. the quickest and easiest way to fault find. get a reman unit a company called bba will do it.

if it was me i would run a loom for it ie get a fuseboard and wire and connectors and hey presto it works, you start splicing and things can go wrong. see it to many times at work.
