    Lowering AGAIN

I have lost out with the steering feel, quite a bit. For me, better ride quality was more important. Others will prefer handling and steering.

    Lowering AGAIN

Glad they've arrived, can't wait to see how they look. Tbh, can't see them working with standard shocks. With pro springs, for me, found car to be undriveable. Sports springs even worse, little damping, as they will be compressed so much. You have to try it though for yourself. My 14 inch wheels...

160sr seems slow off the mark ?

I listen to an old timer on you tube for lots of info, scotty kilmer. Tells things as they are. He advises not to use high octane fuel, unless manufacturer states it as a requirement. I'll do the exhaust, get in Dyno'd, and see how it's running. Might have some head tuning. Spoke to a couple...

160sr seems slow off the mark ?

No, was like it since I bought the car 4 months ago. For cars size, and a 1.6, think it's a little slow initially. It has bags of mid and top end torque. Changed air filter, 2 oil changes, plugs, coils, and cleaned out inlet manifold that was badly gummed up with petrol varnish/resin. Going to...

160sr seems slow off the mark ?

Yes, did the air filter, it's a new one. Use 95 octane petrol, 97 would be a waste/detrimental. Once it hits 25 to 30mph, takes off. Does 100mph easily. Reason I think theres an issue, was behind a base model micra, and it pulled away much more crisplyquickly than mine. Perhaps I just have to...

160sr seems slow off the mark ?

Hello, I get feeling that my 160sr is a bit slow off the mark, particularly in 1st gear, and to some degree in 2nd. No probs once it gets up to 25mph. It's done 37k mileage, and its very quiet sounding. Changed plugs, coils, cleaned mass air flow meter, fitted a kandn filter. Any ideas...

More comfortable ride needed for a k12 160SR required - possible wheel replacement?

The eibach pros, with bilstein b8s work really went at speed. Feels very secure. Theres a bypass near me that has a very long bend. Stayed at 80mph going around it tonight. Felt like there was a force on the outside keeping me in. Seemed like it was impossible to break it. Also went around a...

More comfortable ride needed for a k12 160SR required - possible wheel replacement?

A 185/55/15 wheel would be a good option, possibly better. Surprising how big an effect an increase in tyre wall has. We dont have the roads to justify low profiles on small cars.

More comfortable ride needed for a k12 160SR required - possible wheel replacement?

Cant see tyres clearly, but nice curved fat ones. ?. Back in the day, fat ones were the biz.

More comfortable ride needed for a k12 160SR required - possible wheel replacement?

For anyone that's interested. Had complete new suspension, kyb excell g shocks, eibach pro springs. Drove like a pig, bounced all over the place over bumps and pot holes. Standard wheels. Had wheels and tyres changed to 185/60/14. Dramatic improvement, much more comfortable, yet still a solid...

    Lowering AGAIN

I'm having rears done friday, will know then whether to get bilsteins for front. The wheel/tyre combo I've gone for is almost the same total diameter and width, but will give a softer ride. Did it for comfort, although have also read a lighter wheel will give better responsiveness. I do know...

    Lowering AGAIN

Even if I go back to standard springs, I will not be putting the excel gs back on. If you can wait a month (doing rear first), and can collect them from bristol, you can have the rear and front kyb for nothing. Only a few weeks old.

    Lowering AGAIN

Excel G. Tbh, I was initially disappointed with their appearance. The metal ring around the casing looked a bit cheap. I know that doesn't say much, but it's what I thought. I was persuaded to buy them, by re views and garb. The tyres on the back which came with the car, I've found are the...
