If your 1.0 doesn't have the ecc stuff on it (which it probably wont have) it's a pretty direct swap. If the 1.2 came off a facelift model with the ecc stuff in it you can use the complete inlet stuff from the 1.0. You can swap the manifold complete with carb etc. As far as my experiences go...

Yeah you might want to take out the multimeter and do some checking if there is anything wrong with the electrical stuff. Other than that, check again if you have bought the correct bulbs which could be the most simpelest solution :D

They used to do backboxes for both systems. But the one with the sleeve style thing is hard to get. At least when I phoned around here in Holland they said they couldn't get it. Doesn't seem to be in their database anymore too. That site is kinda nice though. Still some 'performance parts'...

As paul said, nothing really off the shelf. Only backbox I've seen so far which is for sale is a Remus backbox. You can find it on their website here: http://www.remus.at/php/index.php?cmd=cmdFrontendProducts&iProductMotor=115630 But that one is only for facelift models (from 88 upwards)...

I'm experiencing the same 'problems'. Seems like when the gearbox is heated up it's becoming a bit harder to shift gears. As from all the micra's I've driven so far almost all the 5-boxes were a bit 'hard' to shift while the 4-boxes were much smoother. Could be coincidence though.
