My 1998 K11 has easy to use Keep fit manual steering from new as did all my earlier K10 & K11 micras with no worries simplicity. So simple it just keeps working. Original manual power steering has a different mechanical leverage gearing set up & is easy to use. EPS failure renders the vehicle...

If the new sensor & connections are functionally ok, as it appears to be, then I would expect the eml fault flag to auto reset after up to a dozen on & off driving cycle operations without the need for manual resetting? :) Good luck

Best option is to get out & about when the Sun is out & enjoy the freedom & low running costs as it is. That’s what the K11 Micra was built for. Enjoy. :)

I had a similar issue 25 years ago with my then W124 series Merc. estate ABS discharging the battery when not used for 5 days or so. Merc. wanted £2k plus for the ABS module, therefore my optimum economic solution was to pull out its activation relay or the fuse when the vehicle was not going...

Inspect & clean out the crankcase ventilation system pipe & its one way check valve & its small filter under the air intake air filter. Happy hunting ;)

The control arm has to be substantively supported in position by the vehicle structure & its mounting brackets/bolts, therefore a satisfactory repair requires a fully equipped motor engineers workshop & skills to match. May I suggest that the best option is to get firm quotes from any workshops...
