this is my third 1.3 micra i've had the janspeed manifold and the full system in the past and the full standard set up. there is a difference but it's not there all the time

Mine had the mani cat removed when i bought it and there is some noticeable difference's, it seems to pull better at motorway speeds and sounds alot better.

I replaced it the othher week and the mechanic the other day with little change

auto electrics are seriously over my head. But i was told when i picked it up the other day, that it might be worth replacing the inlet manifold and injectors, luckily i found a full set 10 miles away for £60 with sounds like a good price but adding in £40 an hour labour costs it's going to run...

Do you think it could be a cracked manifold? i checked all the vacuum pipes there all in good condition and fitted properly.

i live in pontefract, it's been on diagnostic equipment with no faults found.

Clean as a whistle as far as I can see I don't know how to test the condition of it

It fluctuates between 600 and 2000 rpm

Alll done by the book I just got an erratic idle not to be confused with an eric idle

I had the replacement tb re-soldered as suggested. There is a change but over all still same old problem. There is no pattern to it either i.e driving style, engine temp or distance. Some days it's absoloutley fine and others it's nearly undriveable. I'm out of ideas. The car will be for sale...

I got it from ebay it was around 100 quid with postage. It looks exactly the same as a standard cat from the outside

i'm tempted just for the price and they'll match the rest of the interior colour wise, i can take my time sorting the fitting out.

I service all my cars because i'm cheap. I usually do some homework, take my time and try to have something to refer to in case i find something i wasn't expecting.

I've just noticed some Subaru Wrx seats for a very good price (£50) and there under 10 miles away in Wakefield. Just wanted to know if it would be a massive task to fit them in my micra mounting and sub frame wise?

The first thing the mechanic did was replace the distributor (it badly needed replacing) but i felt no difference, and if the tb re-soldering doesn't work then it's something much more serious.

That's what i thought i had to do the same when i removed the cat from my old rover.

If I cut them off what do I replace them with?

I bought a de-cat section from ebay and when i came to fit it i couldn't remove the old one due to badly rusted nuts (some of them don't even look like nuts anymore no chance of getting a socket or mole grips on them). Any body else had this problem? and what can i do besides snapping or cutting...

I've decided to let my regular mechanic to sort the fault out by re soldering as suggested, as i am the worlds worst at soldering. I hope that's all that was causing the problem.
