It really depends on how much welding you intend to do mate. Clarke isn't a very good make. I would go down to your local welding supply and ask them about second hand welders they have.

That's what I thought, that little turret looks a bit flimsy to me, although it wouldn't take much to strengthen it.

There is a bolt that holds the stick to the link bar going to the gearbox, see if that's loose, then the linkage to the gearbox itself..
