Cheers Fordy, I think the water is coming in from underneath. The carpet on top was dry as a bone, but the sound deadening under the carpet was soaking wet. I realised today that I had jet washed the underside last week...so it could easily have gotten in thru the hole for the gear stick or one...

Have a good look at the bottom of the fuel filter like Fordy mentioned. My K10 wouldn't even move yesterday. The filter looked fine from the top, but once I removed it, it was chock-a-block with rubbish at the bottom. I changed the filter last night and hey presto car runs again.

I doubt it has been sped up. Also, having personally done a fair amount of filming inside cars doing upto and over 180mph I can quite categorically say that it's hard to create NON-jumpy camera work whilst being forced into the back of your seat under acceleration!! Dave, big fan of that...
