    Micra/March problem

I wasnt trying to throw my weight around or offend anyone, apologies if it seemed that way, its the most common thing we see here when a cat has failed due to the lambda sensor being faulty, after reading your comment ed i realise that your right about the older models being less reliant on cats...

    Gearbox oil change

Id assume that draining the fluid was the same as any other gearbox, but there should be a filler cap on top of the gearbox to refill it, rather than the speedo cable hole, as im pretty sure the speedo cable hole sits lower than the level of the oil anyway it would only fill up half way, and if...

    Micra/March problem

If it is just a temp sensor then i dont see a problem with just cutting it off, but Im pretty damn sure that thats the lambda sensor and for gods sake DO NOT CUT IT OFF, that sensor reads the emissions coming from the engine and tells the ecu if the engines burning up to much/too little fuel...

The most disgusting thing ive ever smelt

Yea thats the way i had to do it, take the wheel arch out, the worst part was taking the hoses off and getting all the fluid over my hands, i was just retching constantly, the only thing i can think of is that the alcohol content must have gone from the fluid and the water just went stale, so...

The most disgusting thing ive ever smelt

Been having issues with the car for a few weeks every time i start her up. After about 30secs i get a waft of sum hideous smell (the missus said it smelt like cat poo & litter!) that then goes away, i checked things like the water thinking it may have gone nasty but that was fine, then checked...

    help!

well if you take your car to a garage and get them to put an altemeter on the battery thatll tell you if the alternator is faulty, theyll check it with the engine running and then start turning lights etc on, the reading should always stay in the charge area. as for the juddering im stuck too...

    help!

unlikely that its your battery, the battery is only used to start the car or when your playing the stereo with the engine off, if its struggling with something like that it could be the alternator giving up, but you would know as pretty soon there would be no charge in the battery when you go to...

    Removing Sheared Exhaust Stud

the best way to do this without damaging the threads is to use oxy-acetaline to heat around the stud, then use mole grips or pliers to grip the stud and wind it out, obviously a bit difficult if you dont have that equipment! either that or just drill the bolt right through and tap as said before...

    knocking

A knocking could be the ball joints, possibly hubs, maybe get your bushes looked at aswell, as said before though it would be good to know where the noise is coming from. CV joints would make a clicking noise when you turn at slow speeds, dont know if this is the problem your getting but ive...

    Newbie, but project wanted

sorry guys im not a great fan of the k10! i just have bad memories of my boring stepmum dawdling around in one, and i prefer the shape of the k11! The only reason i wouldnt go ahead with putting a 1.6 engine in is mainly because of the jump in insurance, but also because im looking to start...

    alloy wheels

seen that done more times than i can remember! im a bit surprised they werent sold with a set of bolts really, they usually come as a set. You maybe right about the nuts tho, cant see how wide the holes are, and whenever ive fitted a new set to sumones car we've had the nuts come with them

    Newbie, but project wanted

would a new engine be fairly cheap? ideally if i was going to change the engine i would put a bigger one in, a 1.4L would be nice but 1.3L is more common isnt it? and is it a fairly straghtforward swap?

    alloy wheels

the tyres will fit straight over no problems, and as your not changing the rolling radius no need to worry about the speedo, you will have to get new wheel nuts though, a set from halfords will do the trick and theyre quite cheap, the steel wheel nuts would more than likely be too fat to fit...

    15" Wheels on K11

Should fit straight on no problems at all, and the 195/45/15 would be the best one, if your looking at wolfrace alloys let me know, the tyre company i work for has a deal with wolfrace so i maybe able to get them quite cheap

    Help

i would agree with nex on this one, when i bought my micra from a dealership i found out it had quite a few faults on it, at which point the garage denied responsibility, one call to trading standards and they soon started crapping kittens. If the garage took money from you to do the job and...
