Thanks Frank - the struts are back on the car now. I think what I will do is ask Father Christmas for a new pair of struts, top mounts and rubbers for Christmas... That should make the job a tad easier!! That, or get a garage to have a look. Thanks for the help.

Not a chance of these nuts coming off... :/ Garage want £100 if they can do the nuts without too much hassle.

Here's the mangled top part There doesn't seem to be anywhere on here that would hold the nut firm - or will the top mount come off the strut?

How do you get in there while it has a spring, compressors and the rubber around it? I just tried lower down, but the whole thing just spins. Also tried clamping the top mount but of course that just spins too.

Thanks, I'll give that a go in the morning. So grip the shock rather than the bolt at the top, and then get a spanner on the nut? Yes the spring was compressed ;) Am I right the rears won't need compressing? I have done this before, but there was no trouble with nuts last time. Day off...

I got the first front strut out today with the hopes of fitting my lowering springs, but I am struggling with the top nut. I put an allen key in the center hole and used a spanner on the nut, but the center hole is now ######ed. The allen key now spins right round in the hole, and only after one...

My new Tein springs have arrived, and was thinking about doing the rears tonight and then the fronts when I can borrow some compressors. Can I do rears first, or should it be done all at once? Ta, Tom

I've ordered the Tein ones then, from TeinUK on eBay. Ex display, look in very good condition for £50. Happy :) I had the Gmax ones on my old K11, so will be interesting to see how these are. Cheers :)

Does anyone know how good Tein 35/33mm lowering springs are? Compared to maybe Gmax etc? Cheers, Tom

Changed my outer CV gaiters today as mine were completely split on both sides. Messy job with that grease.

Not sure how much these would go for, but if anyone has any available and could give ne a price posted that would be great. I want to be able to paint black some like I did my old K11 and not have to worry about removing my own ones and waiting for them to dry before putting them back in...

Bit sickening though, that's all :/ The patch on my last Micra was pretty neat.

Can they be re-shaped?

Reeeeally? i'd have thought it would still be the same shape I left it. The dent is over half an inch in from where it was this morning and sticks out a mile. The reason I got the car is because it was so clean and dent free. Will go up the body shop tomorrow (next door to the garage!) and see...

I've just got my car back from the garage after having 24" of welding done on each sill. Now I'm not sure how neat they can get it, but to me this looks pretty rough. Plus, it is now mis-shapen towards the rear each side, and there's another dink near the front. What do you think would cause...

Well they've made a right mess of my welding. 7" dent/kink to the rear of the sill, and on the other side there's another dink like they've hit it with something. The black covering stuff is also very rough :/ Not such a clean car any more :(

Mine is currently having 2/3 of each sill patched.... Fair old job.
