Changing rear spring - what do I remove?

All cleaned up :) I'm very happy with the way the back end sits now, especially with the the spacers on. Is the front likely to settle any more? I should have measured before and after really. Drives well too, not too bumpy at all and less rolley through corners. Bit dark for pictures, but...

Changing rear spring - what do I remove?

Thanks - I've got one spring out now - used the compressors while it was in the car and squeezed it out. Another quick question: the Tein springs are more tightly coiled at one end, but it doesn't say which way up the spring goes. Does anyone know which way up it goes?

Changing rear spring - what do I remove?

The car's right up, but the bottom plate doesn't seem to go down far enough to remove the spring.

Changing rear spring - what do I remove?

Quick question: What do I need to unbolt/remove to release the rear springs? I need to get it done while it's still light really! So far I've only got the damper off. Ta in advance, Tom

    Poor Sill Welding? Help!

£235. No I just asked for the quote, but we did chat about keeping it neat and tidy. Was dusk when I collected it as I had dropped it off that morning, so it wasn't till I got home with a torch I could have a look at it. Then he said "If I'd seen you a week earlier I could have got you a 2002...

    Poor Sill Welding? Help!

If a bit of sill welding is the only real bad point on 15 year old bodywork, it's not too bad ;) Most K11s I see don't even have original panels, or are dented and scuffed all down the sides.

    Poor Sill Welding? Help!

Paid £350 for mine, as near mint as a K11 gets and at 40k miles. Just a dink each on the front and rear bumper, an easy fix ;) I would have happily paid £500 for a good job. I was chatting to the guy before hand, and he said he would keep it neat, and keep the black line nice and flat to keep it...

Looks good to me, especially for only spending £100 on it. I'd lose the bonnet raisers personally though ;)

Tips on removing strut top nut

Been at it again this morning. 2 sets of grips directly on the shaft where the bumpstop goes, but there is no way that nut is going to move. I'm gonna head up to a scrappy after christmas and see if the nut on their struts budge at all, and then might just bring some new struts home.

    K11 Limited editions? How many?

I had a '95 Mauritius, but it was much more basic than my '96 GX is now. The GX has central locking, tweeter pods, headlight protectors etc etc that the old one didn't have. Was also a 1.0. Had not realised it was a ltd ed. It had a huge rear reflector too, but unfortunately it snapped :/

Tips on removing strut top nut

I think if there's a not too cold/wet day sometime soon I will have one last crack at Frank's idea. Then, failing that might grind the nut off!! haha!
